Born and educated in the south of England, Kim has drawn and painted all her life. She was a teacher of art and design for thirty five years before moving to Brittany where she lived and worked for twelve years exhibiting and running workshops. Kim's paintings have become over time completely non representational. The compositions consist of lines, shapes, tones, textures, colours and feelings gathered from her experiences and surroundings. They are about her own vision of the world. She considers drawing to be an essential part of the process and charcoal is her favoured medium. In many of her paintings drawn lines appear and disappear as a reminder of the underlying structure of the composition. Kim exhibits regularly in France and the UK and her work is in collections around the world. Since November 2014 she has been living and working in Farnham, Surrey. |
